Customer Story: Boating Abroad Made Effortless with Agapi

Having been a member of Agapi Swanwick since they opened in summer 2020, I’ve also enjoyed using the Agapi clubs in Menorca and Mallorca for family holidays over the years — so when a business trip took me to Helsinki, I couldn’t resist the idea of a day on the water with friends.
I contacted Josh, who sorted everything effortlessly. He arranged an Axopar 29 from Keilaniemi and given I’d never sailed Finnish waters before, walked me through the boat via FaceTime from Sweden. The familiarisation was thorough and relaxed — by the time we completed the onboarding on the boat, I felt completely prepared.
Not that I had any reason to worry. Within five minutes of leaving the dock, the Axopar had won us over entirely. It’s an incredibly intuitive boat to handle and what had seemed like a navigation puzzle — small islands, shallow rocky passages, unfamiliar charts — quickly became part of the adventure. We plotted our route on Navionics, with help from Agapi’s markers and headed out to explore.

Josh recommended Restaurant Strindberg at Haukilahti harbour for lunch, which turned out to be a brilliant call. They have their own pontoon, so we tied up with zero fuss and spent a sun-drenched afternoon with drinks on the terrace followed by a superb seafood lunch.
On the return leg we found more islands to explore and stopped to refuel before heading back.
A genuinely perfect day on the water — exactly the kind of experience that reminds me why boating abroad is so special.
